Kym Craven,
Public Safety Director
Kym Craven is a senior
management consultant with 20
years of organizational design,
program, operations, funding,
training, and planning
management in the public safety,
homeland security and municipal
government sectors.

Ms. Craven is a nationally recognized
expert who understands both the operations
and business of public safety. Ms. Craven
specializes in the strategic management of
policing operations, which includes
establishing organizational structure,
implementing policies and procedures, and
measuring performance. In addition,
Ms. Craven specializes in NIMS/ICS, Emergency Response Planning, Continuity of Government Planning, Homeland Security Technology Assessments, Fire Services Strategic Planning, Community Policing, Highway Safety, Homeland Security Grant Management, and Law Enforcement Leadership Training.
As a management specialist, Ms. Craven provides technical assistance
on a wide range of issues related to grant
funding. She secured over $5 million in recent grant funding for fire and police departments in the areas of technology, training, program development and staffing,
and works with state and local governments
to troubleshoot grant issues and ensure
compliance.
Prior to joining PSSG, Ms. Craven was a public safety consultant to numerous municipalities, state and federal agencies, and private organizations. During her career, Ms. Craven was recognized with three national awards for program development and management. Ms. Craven also has practitioner level experience as a patrol officer.
Ms. Craven participates in training, funding and public/private partnership committees of the MA Anti-Terrorism Task Force, and is a member of the IACP, NDIA,
and the American Society for Law Enforcement
Trainers. She has BS in Criminal Justice
from University of Lowell and a MA in
Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College.
